TIPS Construction Project Spotlights
Veregy for MBS International Airport Commission
Project Overview:
Veregy collaborated with MBS International Airport to install 342 kW of solar-powered car canopies at their rental car lot. Over the guaranteed life of the solar modules, the project will reduce the airport’s CO2 emissions by 7,100 Metric Tons. In addition, Veregy will supply and install the EV Charging Infrastructure to make ready for six EV charging Level 2 stations. Through this project, MBS Internal Airport will achieve energy savings and increased revenue on an annual basis.
Quote from Cory Harper, Veregy Aviation Business Developer:
“The MBS Airport staff and Commission were excellent partners throughout the entire project development and construction! Airport staff were engaged and committed to the success of the project from the beginning. Veregy and the Airport worked seamlessly to develop 2 distinct phases of the project that maximized local funding sources and complied with FAA regulations while producing both significant savings and new revenues for the airport. The project progressed smoothly from concept to contract through the use of 2 TIPS contracts. The TIPS contract methodology gave the airport confidence that the pricing was competitive on a national level. Phase 1 of the project for the Rental Car Return lot is nearly complete and on track to be completed by the end of August. Phase 2 is nearing the end of the Design phase of the project and will hopefully be energized by the end of the year. Both phases of the project significantly benefited by the use of a TIPS contracts to reduce the time from conception to implementation.”
“I have had a great experience working with Veregy. They have been very responsive to any concerns I have brought forth and have been very creative with solutions to problems. Their communication on the project was excellent as well”.
